Project Description

Ask an Astronomer is a popular website (over 40 million visits) with large amount of high quality content, but in need of a modern interface since it was launched in the 90s. We first designed a logo which acts as an anchor for the design. During the initial consultation, the Cornell team expressed their wish to encourage searching and browsing of existing archive before a user submits a new question. Thus, we incorporated a smart search widget as the showcase item on the landing page, plus implemented various ways for the users to browse the site more easily, such as tags, author filters, sorting by date and popularity etc.

Our Role:

  • Logo Design
  • Web Design & Development
  • Smart Search Integration
  • Implementation of Google Translate
